Dollar Tree
In July of 2018, Trucco Construction Company teamed up with Clancy & Theys Construction Company out of Virginia to build a 1.2 Million square foot distribution center for Dollar Tree. DT-15 was set to be the 15th center of its kind in the United States. With an original contract value of over $20 Million the 150 acre site in Marengo, Ohio started development on July 17th, 2018. A highly aggressive schedule was assigned to the project: the center was to be fully operational in just 11 months! This was a challenge we felt honored to take on. Our scope for the project included removing 24 miles of existing field tiles, moving approximately 650,000 cy of earth, 72 acres of cement stabilization, excavating & recycling 19,000 cy of rock, installing 8 miles of underground utilities (sanitary, storm & water lines), placing 137,000 tons of aggregate base for the pad and parking lots, coordinating 75,000 tons of asphalt for 900 semi-truck and associate parking lots, managing 1.6 miles of security fence installation, slipping 3.5 miles of curb, and pouring 2.15 miles of dolly pads and 4.7 acres of dock aprons. The challenge was amplified as 2018 went down as the wettest year on record for Ohio. Despite all of the challenges, Trucco was able to complete the project on time. DT-15 starting taking product deliveries on July 16th, 2019.
